Meine Komfortzone

My Comfort Zone

A few years ago, I went on a martial arts training journey in the US. My first stop was a rather boring city in the north of Florida where the crisis had visibly left its stains. I visited a master from our organisation but I did not get the amount of training I had hoped for. I decided to visit another martial arts club to complement the other training. The sight of the building alone with the big posters of huge and frightening fighters sent chills down my back. I could have turned around and lay into the hotel pool and go back to the familiar little school the next day, where I already knew all the people and was one of the more advanced students. I did not do that though and joined the other club for the rest of the month. In hindsight, this was a great decision and I’m proud of having stepped out of my comfort zone – and this may be one of the most challenging tasks in life. I believe though it is necessary if you want to grow as a person. Nevertheless, I like to go back into my comfort zones and ias if it had been reality and I had experienced it just like that, I can see and feel an exceptionally beautiful and surreal comfort zone before my eyes when I listen to ‚Green Mountain State‘ by Trevor Hall. While listening to this song, images of friends and me sitting around a bonfire on a forest glade close to a river or a lake on a warm summer evening come to mind and as the song progresses, we start dancing vividly around the fire – what a beautiful comfort zone that would be.
